Toevakoddi
On the seashore below our Blosta Croft is a Toevakoddi, called ‘Tivacudda.’
A Toevakoddi was a cleft in the coastal rocks with a wave action.
In bygone days, Shetlanders in each community paid part
of their rent in Wadmal - a plain wool cloth of handspun yarn.
This was woven in homes and fulled (cleaned and milled) in the sea in a Toevakoddi.
A 2 Ply Jumper Weight Yarn for Fair Isle Knitting.
Approx. 142m per 50g.
